A break is where we open sealed product live and distribute the cards based on purchased spots (random team, division, or personal). It’s fun, fair, and full of surprises.
In the context of collectible card breaks, PYT (Pick Your Team) and PYP (Pick Your Player) are two common methods for distributing cards from a break, where a box or case of cards is opened and shared among participants. Box breaks are the broader practice of opening sealed boxes or cases and dividing the cards among participants who have bought "spots" or a share of the break.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
- PYT (Pick Your Team):
In a PYT break, participants choose a specific team they want to collect from the break. All cards featuring players from that team that are pulled during the break are then sent to the participant who picked that team.
- PYP (Pick Your Player):
In a PYP break, participants choose a specific player they want to collect. All cards featuring that player (including base, inserts, numbered, autographs, etc.) are then sent to the participant who picked that player.
- Box Breaks (or simply "Breaks"):
This is the general term for the activity of opening sealed boxes or cases of cards and distributing the contents to participants who have bought into the break. Breaks can be PYT, PYP, or use other methods for distributing cards (like random team selection or a combination).
In essence, PYT and PYP are specific types of card breaks, with the key difference being how the cards are allocated to the participants.
